Mouthguards
April is National Facial Protection Month, but mouthguards are a good idea all year long. One in four parents say their child has had an injury during an organized sport resulting in a trip to the emergency room. Let's work together to protect your smile! Just by wearing a mouthguard you reduce the risk of knocking out teeth or breaking a jaw. Any time you are engaged in an activity where your face can come in contact with something hard--say another player, a ball, the pavement, or any hard object--it is a time that you should be wearing a mouthguard! Dr. Hutta believes so strongly in mouthguard wear that he provides them at no charge to his patients. Check out http://www.braces.org/sportsafety/ for tips on how to protect yourself and your mouth, jaw and teeth from serious injury.
